This is a lingerie website, not a dog website, but I have to say that I have had some bizarre experiences this weekend that have led me to see that there is a distinct and at times quite frightening correlation.
If you have a dog, you are smiling when you read this because you already know what I am talking about. Dogs LOVE lingerie. No silly, not to wear. (Although I will get to this in a minute…) Dogs love to eat or chew on lingerie. Underwear that is left lying around the house is easy prey for your precious pooch. Dogs love bras and panties almost as much as they love that worn out and old shoe. (sigh) I have lost more of my lacy favorites to dog attack than I would care to admit. At my house the laundry basket can never be left at “doggie level”. Disastrous things always result. Suffice it to say that I could easily own an entire wardrobe of crotchless underwear and it didn’t necessarily start out that way.
I apologize for the big “ewwww” factor that seems to be taking over this article. I know, it’s disgusting, but our canine friends seem to share our passion for the pretty. What’s a girl to do?
Recently I made a funny discovery that if you are a purveyor of lingerie and the owner of a dog, you most certainly will appreciate. These are some very cute and detailed dog chew toys, designed cleverly to resemble bras and panties.
Something tells me that these chew toys aren’t really viable substitutes for the real McCoy, but they certainly make cute fun of a very real and annoying problem. I’m a fan and will soon have bras and panties purposefully added to my dog’s basket of toys that he chews on when someone ‘s flip flop isn’t readily available.
Yes, dogs do love to chew on lingerie, but in my quest to find the perfect hilarious dog toy I also made a really disturbing discovery. Now I have been known to dress my little Dachshund in a yellow rain coat during drizzly walks, but dressing dogs in real lingerie seemed a little frightening to me. I suppose there are people out there who will do anything in the name of cute, but this just took the whole lingerie thing to a level I can only label here as WRONG. No way is this happening…is it? xo J.
